This is not a solicitation, and no quotes are being requested or accepted. The VA intends to extend current non-emergent medical transportation services under FAR 52.217-8 because the existing contract expires 10/31/2026 and an interruption would critically impede statutory obligations under 38 USC 111A and continuity of healthcare operations. Services include pre-arranged, scheduled, unscheduled, and will-call door-to-door transportation from beneficiaries’ homes/apartments and Patient Travel Office-designated areas to/from medical appointments, plus discharges from PVAHCS inpatient wards and the Emergency Department and transports to/from contracted nursing homes. The extension is needed for up to 3 months pending award and performance start of a competitively solicited long-term contract.
