The response deadline to this RFQ is now extended to 12/14/2023 at 10:00 AM Pacific Standard Time. The following pages are in response to interested vendor questions. Driver Qualifications: The Contractor s Wheeled and hired car drivers shall have successfully completed the Standard First Aid courses of the American Red Cross or equivalent. Proof in the form of a certificate that first aid training has been successfully completed and is current shall be available upon request by any VA staff member. Drivers shall be fully trained and licensed in the State California to operate wheeled and hired car vehicles. Drivers shall have a valid CA State Driver s License with a Passenger Endorsement. Drivers shall treat all Veteran patients with courtesy and respect at all times. Prior to award of contract, certifications shall be provided. Verbal and/or physical abuse of VA patients shall not be tolerated and shall be immediately reported to the COR or VAMC Beneficiary Travel section. SYNOPIS OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION: The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) has a requirement for services of Wheeled and Hired Car Transportation for the Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System and Community Based Out-Patient Clinics (CBOC s). The Contractor shall provide Wheeled and Hired Car Services to Veteran patients of the main Veteran Affairs Medical Centers (VAMC), twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week including holidays as requested by the Government. This requirement is a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract, and the contract period will be for nine (9) months, with four (4) potential option years to be exercised at the option of the Government. Based on the results of market research under Sources Sought Notice 36C26224Q0022, posted on 10/27/2023 at SAM.gov, an electronic solicitation may be issued on or about 11/24/2023 at Sam.gov.  The VA intends to make a single award as a result from this solicitation.
