Contracting Activity: Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 22, VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHCS), West Los Angeles VA Healthcare System; 2237: 691-23-3-2188-0087. 2. Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount: This requirement is for the emergency procurement of surgical instrument repair and sharpening service for the Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. The facility currently does not have any processes in place to repair or sharpen surgical instruments. The total estimated amount for this requirement is $37,500.00. 3. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: Due to the emergency nature of this requirement, there was no time to compete pricing. Delaying the award would cause irreparable harm to the Government and affect patient care significantly. The facility has been without surgical instrument repair or sharpening services for six (6) months. This requirement was previously handled by Agiliti Health, Inc. under contract 36C26222P0281. They have the unique authority to provide surgical instrument maintenance and repair services in combination with the ability to laser mark instruments through Censis Technologies. 4. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted: Minimal market research was conducted. This requirement was previously procured via contract 36C26222P0281. Agiliti Health, Inc is not a verified VOSB/SDVOSB within VetCert. Market research was in accordance with FAR 13.106-1 Unusual and Compelling Urgency, where a delay in award of a contract would result in serious injury, financial, or other, to the Government. 5. Contracting Officer's Certification: Purchase is approved in accordance with FAR13.106-1(b).
