The inpatient Pharmacy IV Cleanroom Suite and 6th floor infusion clinic at the NMVAHCS require cleanliness and sterility in full compliance with the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) 797 and 800 standards and regulations. The area that requires cleaning is approximately 376-sq.ft and service shall be required once a month. The scope of work includes cleaning, disinfecting, and applying a sporicidal agent to designated surfaces to remove organic and inorganic materials, usually with a cleaning agent; disinfecting, which involves destruction of microorganisms, usually with a chemical agent; applying a sporicidal agent to destroy bacterial and fungal spores; and applying sterile 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) to remove any residue.
