This is a manipulation free nesting shuttle system for transporting food trays. There are two parts to this system, first, the floor mounted base. Second, the meal Pod trolly, which connects to the floor mounted base. When the meals are prepared and ready for the patients, the food trays are disconnected from the base station in the kitchen. The carts are then transferred to the living center, where the carts are re-attached to the same base station that is in the kitchen. There is no other manufacture that is compatible with the B-Pod System. Burlodge B-Lean system is currently installed and being used in the facilities kitchen. Since employees already using the Burlodge system, additional training would not be required. All system specifications meet the space allocations. The Burlodge system will be installed throughout the facility as part of future plans. VHAPM 810 was used for all of the of the market research that was conducted. Despite the existence of a few SDVOSB/VOSBs, per the Sole Source letter provided none of these vendors are authorized re-sellers of Burlodges equipment. GSA Advantage, FPDS, SBA Vet Cert, VETBiz, and SBA DSBS were used in the market research to find business’s that could offer this equipment. Using the keyword “Burlodge Pod” returned a total of 46 vendors, out of that three were SDVOSB/VOSB’s. FPDS used keyword “Dietary Food Carts” resulted in one Delivery Order and one Purchase Order. Using the NAICS Code a search in SBA Vet Cert returned 657 vendors. An additional search in VetBiz using the same NAICS resulted in 23 vendors .Using the same NAICS Code, the SBA DSBS searched and found 25 vendors. A search of the equipment shows that the manufacture Burlodge USA, is a large business. The market research also indicates that this equipment can be supplied by authorized small businesses. Burlodge provided an email with authorized distributors of their products.
