The Government intends to sole-source middleware support for Lab Information System (LIS) interfaces to Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Informatics, Inc. The VA Palo Alto Ancillary Testing Department requires equipment to interface ancillary testing devices to the Laboratory Information System (VISTA) and the electronic health record (CPRS). This interface receives patient POC test results and pulls patient demographics from the LIS. It applies appropriate rules and regulations to ensure quality and compliance standards are met. The system also serves as electronic storage for all test parameters and results.
