The information requested will be used solely within the Department of Veterans Affairs to facilitate decision making and will not be disclosed outside of the Government. The determination of a procurement strategy, based upon the comments submitted in response to this Sources Sought Announcement, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334510, Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing, and the small business size standard is 1,250 employees. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office (NCO) 21 is soliciting information on contractors that can provide Thyroid Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) system equipment. A description is below. Brief Description - Thyroid Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) system The intended use of the requested item is the treatment of benign thyroid nodules and microcarcinomas. System will allow for minimally invasive, ultrasound-guided ablation of thyroid tissue, reducing the need for surgery and referrals to community care. The system will be used by endocrine and general surgeons as part of a growing in-house thyroid ablation program to improve Veteran access to specialty care. Item must be indicated specifically for thyroid ablation and must have sufficient technical features, such as impedance control, thyroid-specific electrode dimensions, appropriate electrode configurations, thermal safety mechanisms, and FDA-cleared for use in thyroid radiofrequency ablation. Capability Statement - Please provide the following when responding: Please provide documentation on capability to provide the requested equipment, indicating that the equipment meets the description requirements above, for thyroid specific application, including: What is your company s Socioeconomic Status?
