OPPORTUNITIES DESCRIPTION Construction Service for Project No. 593-23-308, Install Campus Fall Protection at VA Medical Center Las Vegas, NV. This is a pre-solicitation announcement only. Solicitation documents will be available on or around May 14, 2025. The solicitation will contain all necessary proposal instruction. This requirement is a total set-aside for a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOSB). The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, and the small business size standard is $45M. In Accordance With (IAW) VA Acquisition Regulation (VAAR) 836.204(f) Disclosure of the magnitude of construction projects is anticipated between $1,000,000.00 and $2,000,000.00. Questions regarding this pre-solicitation must be sent in writing to christopher.whipple@va.gov Project Purpose: During construction of the hospital, fall protection on the roof was not installed in all needed areas and therefore has left portions of the buildings on the VASNHS campus deficient. The omission of compliant fall protection devices in specific fall hazard areas causes increased danger to employees and contractors. The lack of fall protection violates OSHA standards. The purpose of this project is to augment existing fall protection devices by adding additional devices where such danger exists, and none have been previously provided. The intent is to make fall protection safeguards available to persons working or otherwise occupying the specified areas where such dangers exist. The Fall Protection System is to provide ease of access for maintenance not limited to the HVAC equipment, roof drains, PV inverters, skylights, windows, and unprotected access thru roof access ladders and hatches except where such features are accessible by ground based mobile lifts. In addition, this project will address issues found on the FCA. Location of work shall include the following: Buildings 1-7 Roof tops Building 1 Basement Mezzanine Loading Dock Retaining Walls The Contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, administrative support, and any necessary professional engineering services required for the construction to complete the Install Campus Fall Protection Project, IAW the Statement of Work (SOW). The duration of this project is approximately 210 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed (NTP) is issued.
