PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office (NCO 21) intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract for VA Central California Health Care System to provide special mode transportation services to Veterans discharged from VA medical care with Alex, Inc. previously K&A Med transportation. K&A Medical Transport provides resources to transport veterans from the VA Medical Center in Fresno to residences, skilled nursing facilities, etc. in the 6 county areas which are Fresno, Madera, Merced, Mariposa, Tulare, and Kings on a non-routine/as needed basis type of service. The types of transport provided are gurney, wheelchair, oxygen, 6 counties, and COVID positive Veterans. K&A also provides secure car services (ambulatory Veterans that need assistance blind, mobility and Transport of veterans weighing more than 300 lbs.). K&A have the ability to operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and are capable of providing all necessary transportation services with less than 4 hours-notice. K&A accepts COVID+ Veterans and are currently in compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations related to staffing, vehicles, and business practices. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, no later than 10/1/2021 3PM PST which shall be considered by the agency. After consideration, the Government will determine whether to proceed with the sole source acquisition.
