Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 21 (NCO 21) hereby gives notice of the Government s intent to establish a fixed price contract with Biomerieux, Inc: 100 Rodolphe St. Durham, North Carolina 27712 to acquire Biomerieux automated blood culture instrumentation and reagents- cost-per-test (CPT). This contract will be used as a simplified method of filling anticipated repetitive needs blood culture supplies at the VA Southern Nevada Health Care System. This contract will be established with a single source, Biomerieux, Inc. because they are the sole manufacturer of the required Biomerieux automated blood culture instrumentation and reagents. Determination of this single source procurement is in accordance with Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements per 41 USC §3304(a)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. It is the Government s belief that the proposed candidate is the only provider of the Biomerieux Automated Blood Culture System and Reagents that can meet the agency s needs. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 325413 (In-Vitro Diagnostic Substance Manufacturing) and the Federal Supply Code (FSC) is 6550 (In Vitro Diagnostic Substances, Reagents, Test Kits and Sets). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any business that believes it can provide the Biomerieux Automated Blood Culture System and Reagents (CPT) may give written notice to mandy.thompson2@va.gov by 12:00PM Pacific Time on August 20, 2021. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement. Responses will be considered by the Government; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. THIS SYNOPSIS DOES NOT COMMIT THE GOVERNMENT TO CONTRACT FOR ANY SUPPLY OR SERVICE. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT PAY FOR ANY INFORMATION OR ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS INCURRED IN RESPONSE TO THIS SYNOPSIS.
