The contract will be for a one (1) year base period and two (2) option years. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 532490, Other Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Rental and Leasing, with a small busines size standard of $35M. The FSC/PSC is W065, Lease or Rental of Equipment Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Equipment and Supplies. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and award a sole source contract for the rental and maintenance of Ears, Nose and Throat (ENT) Endoscopes to Olympus America Inc, 3500 Corporate Parkway, Center Valley, PA 18034. There are no other source of supply/service that will satisfy agency requirements. The Olympus scopes are already being leased and maintained at the VA Northern California Health Care System: VA Northern California Healthcare System Mather Campus 10535 Hospital Way Mather, CA 95655-4200 VA Northern California Healthcare System Martinez Campus 150 Muir Rd. Martinez, CA 94553 VA Northern California Healthcare System Redding VA 351 Hartnell Ave Redding, CA Remaining with Olympus scopes will eliminate the need for additional equipment, will reduce training requirements and allows the use of existing reprocessing equipment with no additional purchase of cleaning equipment or attachments. In addition, Olympus America Inc. is the only source that can perform repairs/maintenance to the scopes due to the proprietary nature of this equipment, no other company was found that has authorized third-party service providers.
