This notice is being published in accordance with FAR Part 5 requiring the dissemination of information on proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source procurement contract and is not a request for competitive proposals. The statutory authority for this sole-source procurement is FAR 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source. The Department of Veterans Affairs Pacific Islands Health Care System (VAPIHCS) located at Honolulu, HI intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed price contract with Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc., 5160 Hacienda Drive, Dublin, CA 94568-7562 for routine maintenance of Optometry equipment within the state of Hawaii. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination not to compete this requirement is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. No telephone inquiries will be accepted.
