The Department of Veterans Affairs, Northern California Healthcare System, intends to award a noncompetitive contract for Cepheid reagents used in the Cepheid GeneXpert Infinity-48S analyzer for the VA Las Vegas Medical Center to Cepheid, 904 Caribbean Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94089. This announcement is for items for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can only be satisfied for items available from one source. This is the only source known that can provide this item as the analyzer is a Cepheid machine and Cepheid is the only source that provides the reagents, and they have no authorized resellers or distrubutors.. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by June 19, 2020 by 5:00 PM PST by sending an e-mail to Ronald.Donez@va.gov with the subject line Cepheid Reagents please have your firm s information, point of contact, phone and e-mail address provided. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement. All interest received on or before this date will be evaluated by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation documents are available at this time and telephone requests will not be honored.
