This Sources Sought Notice is for planning purposes only and shall not be considered as an invitation for bid, request for quotation, request for proposal, or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. Your response to this Sources Sought Notice will be treated as information only. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of contractor submission of responses to this announcement or the Government use of such information. This request does not constitute a solicitation for proposals or the authority to enter into negotiations to award a contract. No funds have been authorized, appropriated, or received for this effort. The information provided may be used by the Department of Veterans Affairs in developing its acquisition approach, statement of work/statement of objectives and performance specifications. BACKGROUND The Pathology and Laboratory Services (P&LMS) is located VASNHCS Clinical Microbiology Lab, 975 Kirman Avenue, Reno, NV 89502. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES The Department of Veterans Affairs, Sierra Nevada Health Care System (VASNHCS) is searching for sources capable of performing infectious diseases reference lab testing. The tests to be performed are assay that the facility does not have infrastructure to perform on site; some tests require Biological Safety Infrastructure not present within the infrastructure of the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Clinical Laboratory Microbiology. This is a public health service requirement to reduce potential exposure. Capability Statements Vendors interested in participating in this procurement must also provide all of the following information in their response to the Sources Sought notice: Fill in the last two columns of the Requirements Table for every test included in the Table. Provide a copy of the CLIA Certificate of Accreditation for each lab the vendor identifies in the Table. The Certificate must include the Lab Certification Code(s) and effective date for the laboratory specialties and subspecialties the lab is certified to perform. For each laboratory identified in the Table, provide a declaration signed by the Laboratory Director listed on the CLIA Certificate of Accreditation that identifies which laboratory tests identified in the Table are currently being performed at that laboratory and which are currently validated through an external proficiency testing (PT) program from a CMS-approved PT provider. The information requested regarding the laboratories that will be performing the tests required by this procurement will be used to determine whether sufficient SDVOSB/VOSB/small business concerns exist who are capable of performing the work required by this procurement. FAILURE TO PROVIDE THE REQUESTED INFORMATION FOR ANY TEST, OR FAILURE TO PROVIDE THE CERTIFICATE OF ACCREDITATION FOR ANY IDENTIFIED LAB, WILL BE UNDERSTOOD BY VA TO BE A STATEMENT THAT THE VENDOR RESPONDING TO THIS NOTICE IS UNABLE TO PROVIDE THAT PARTICULAR TEST.
