The laboratory already utilizes a certain brand of cassettes; Fisher PrintMate Certified Cassettes. The tissue processor must be compatible with these specific cassettes, and this instrument is made for this specific use. The estimated cost of this procurement is $148,832. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: Microscopic analysis of cells and tissues require the preparation of very thin, high quality sections mounted on glass slides and appropriately stained. Most systems use conventional or microwave systems, however the Peloris III employs a unique feature called ActiFlo, which uses a reagent vortex to actively accelerate processing through rapid and even-heating, as well as active reagent distribution and contains Two built-in density meters help limit the risk of lab errors during reagent change. In addition, this unit contains a unique Track and Trace feature with an integrated bar code scanner that records basket IDs, user IDs, and reagent lot numbers. The data is captured in the built-in Reporting Module, thereby eliminating manual documentation and reducing error. Leica BioSystems is the sole source manufacturer of the HistoCore PELORIS 3 110 V Dual Retort TP, including all parts and replacements, and Government Scientific Solutions is the only authorized distributor with the capability of providing this equipment.
