Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount: Development of software features for auditory and cognitive testing using the proprietary Portable Auditory Rapid Test (PART) platform, to be completed by the University of California Riverside, Brain Game Center for Mental Fitness and Wellbeing. The request is for development of software features to add functionality to the proprietary PART platform developed by University of California Riverside, Brain Game Center for Mental Fitness and Wellbeing, which is needed to permit research subjects to: 1. Independently complete speech testing, 2. Complete questionnaires and cognitive assessments and 3. Capability for the PART platform to securely transmit test results via encrypted email to designated VA email address. Total: $51,500.00 Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: The University of California Riverside, Brain Game Center for Mental Fitness and Wellbeing developed and is the sole producer of the proprietary PART (Portable Adaptive Rapid Testing) Platform, a system designed to access auditory processing abilities across a wide range of tasks. PART was designed to allow users to perform high-quality assessments of auditory processing abilities in a wide variety of settings. PART is unique in its sound-engine capabilities that will enable us to generate a wide range of psychoacoustical stimuli in real-time to facilitate our auditory psychoacoustic research that after development, will be able to run on VA-purchased tablet computers. We are not aware of any other platform that has the flexibility of PART s sound-engine system for creating batteries of auditory and cognitive testing. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted: The University of California- Riverside, Brain Game Center for Mental Fitness and Welling is the sole proprietor and producer of the PART Platform, and therefore is the only vendor that can adapt the PART Platform to incorporate the required modifications. Contracting Officer's Certification: Purchase is approved in accordance with FAR13.106-1(b).
