The purpose for this synopsis is to conduct market research to help identify capable, potential sources and to establish if this requirement can be set-aside for small business or other socio-economic programs to include: Small Business, 8(a) firms, Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone), Women-Owned, Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Veteran Owned Small Business. NAICS Code: 339113 Hospital Beds Manufacturing Small Business Size Standard: 750 Employees PSC/FSC: 6530 Hospital Furniture, Equipment, Utensils and Supplies GENERAL INFORMATION: The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to procure Behavioral Health Platform Beds and risers for the Puget Sound VA Medical Center. Salient characteristics include: -Deck Length 80 -Bed Deck Width 36 -Height 15.5 -Overall Length 84 -Overall Width 40 -Weight 110-115 lbs. -Slightly textured, maintenance free surface for easy cleaning -Rotationally molded, ligature resistant, specially formulated, fire-retardant, high-impact polyethylene with ultraviolet light stabilizers -Chemically resistant to blood, vinegar, urine, feces, salt solution and chlorine solution. -Rigid polyurethane foam filling for increased durability and sound absorption. -Tested to 1,000 lbs. static load -Wedge anchors and 3/8 bolts required to permanently attach to the floor -Greengard certified INSTRUCTIONS TO RESPOND TO SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: Any vendor interested and capable of meeting this requirement should provide a written statement to the Contracting Officer.
