The VA is conducting market research for Heart Transplant Biopsies Consultation Services at the Salt Lake City VA Health Care System (George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center), with a base plus four option years. Services include examination and interpretation of transplanted heart biopsy slides using light microscopy, immunofluorescence, and electron microscopy, plus retrospective case review as needed. The contractor must pick up slides locally within 2 hours during normal business hours, examine LM/IF and EM thin sections on the day of receipt, provide a verbal report within 24 hours, send final reports within 24 hours, and attend weekly transplant tumor boards at 07:00 MST. Estimated annual volumes are 25 technical consultations, 25 professional consults with immunofluorescence, and 30 professional consults with electron microscopy.
