The RMR VAMC’s Center of Innovation for Veteran-Centered and Value Driven Care (COIN) Research and Evaluation group is funded primarily by grants from many funding entities including but not limited to: VHA Health Services Research & Development (HSR&D), Office of Rural Health (ORH), Quality Enhancement Research Initiative (QUERI), and Office of Veteran Access to Care (OVAC). COIN and Research Service researchers and staff conduct interviews with Veterans, their family members, caregivers, and providers for the purpose of conducting rigorous research and evaluation studies, determining Best Practices, and evaluating current Standards of Care methods. These interviews require transcription to completely analyze and report out on projects utilizing these interviews. Due to changes in funding and timelines in research, evaluation, and quality improvement projects, the Research Service of the Eastern Colorado Healthcare System requires an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract to allow each project to illicit services from a centralized Vendor. The number of studies varies from time to time and there is no set monthly amount to be determined since interviews occur at various points during the year (often dependent on notification of VA union approval or phase of project implementation).
