Amendment 1 to RFQ 36C25921Q0771 RFQ Questions/Answers as follows: For the new frame specifications, does the 1 5/8" reference the width of the face of the frame? If so, was there a depth or height of the frame specified?  Dimension is for the width of the face of the frame. Depth will depend on the depth of the stretcher bars used to wrap the canvas/artwork. The depth of the frame should conceal the artwork from being seen from the side. The specifications call for a black metal frame, is there a specific frame or product that is envisioned? Black extruded aluminum frame with rounded corners.  Nothing was specified. For the double mat, can you please clarify the thickness or ply count for each mat level? 6 ply The specifications call for a stretcher or strainer frame in back. Is this for the overall stability of the artwork? Are there any specifications or a thickness required? The use of additional stretchers and/or strain relief is usually based on the framers professional judgement if the artwork being framed requires additional support in order to maintain the integrity of the entire assembly (frame, artwork and glazing). For the oversize sizes (above 32" x 40") is it possible to substitute plexiglass for the glass? At the larger sizes, glass will be very heavy and potentially less safe. Plexiglass will scratch due the necessary cleaning requirements of a healthcare requirement. Security hardware is required. See note above for additional stretchers/strain relief. The use of plexiglass is unacceptable.
