Padding of Mental Health Seclusion Rooms (Purchase and Install) Oklahoma City VA Health Care System VA Medical Center Oklahoma City, OK. 73104 BRIEF SCOPE OF WORK (This is for information only) The contractor shall purchase and install foam safety padding in accordance with the terms and conditions stated within the Statement of Work (SOW). All work shall be coordinated with the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System s Contracting Officer Representative (COR). FOAM SAFETY PADDING PRODUCT AND INSTALLATION: General: Contractor shall provide all materials and installation of foam padding in three mental health seclusion rooms and one police holding room located: 8-East Room 8A113, 8-North Room 8B118, BF125b, and BF137. Each room is approximately 10 x10 x9 (exact measurements will be provided within the PWS of future solicitation). Contractor shall provide seclusion rooms with installation of the product on all: Walls Floors Doors Product requirements: Provides maximum safety when applied to floors, walls, and doors Self-extinguishing, fire tested Virtually indestructible Material to be uniform and smooth, no cracks or open seams Non-slip surface Fungus resistant Designed for hospital use, easily cleaned and disinfected Per VHA Handbook 1106.06 establishes that: Every inpatient unit must have at least one room designed and designated for seclusion and restraint. The room must be structured to prevent patient self-injury while retaining a therapeutic ambiance through color, lighting, noise control, and an appropriate restraint-safe bed. The flooring in all seclusion and restraint rooms should have some cushioning to decrease the risk of injury in a fall . PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)/PROCEDURES: Contractor to provide required PPE for workers installing this product. SCHEDULING: Except by special alternative arrangement, scheduled work will be performed only during Oklahoma City VAHCS s normal working hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding federal holidays).
