In accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), this Notice of Intent is to inform all parties the Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 19 located at 6162 South Willow Drive Suite 300, Greenwood Village, CO 80111 intends to award a sole source procurement for the following requirement to the large business manufacturer, Abbott Laboratories, located at 3200 Lakeside DR., Santa Clara, CA 95054: ITEM # DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLIES QTY UNIT OF ISSUE 0001 CentriMag Blood Pump 3 EA This contracting action is for the purchase and delivery of three (3) CentriMag Blood Pumps. In 2017, two (2) complete Centrimag systems were purchased and currently in use in the operating room (OR) for blood profusion procedures. The CentriMag Extracorporeal Blood Pumping System is designed to pump blood through the extracorporeal bypass circuit for extracorporeal circulatory support for periods appropriate to cardiopulmonary bypass (up to six hours). The CentriMag Pump is a disposable blood pump that features medical grade polycarbonate, 31cc priming volume, 3/8 barbed inlet and outlet, no bearing or seals Max. pump speed -5500rpm, Max. flow 9.9lpm, Max pressure-600mmHg. These pumps are always required to be fully functional for life saving procedures. In the event a pump breaks during a procedure, only the exact make and model will suffice as a backup for continuity of equipment because it is the only pump that is compatible with the Centrimag blood pump systems currently used in the OR suite. Abbott Laboratories provided a letter stating they are the sole source manufacturer and distributor for the CentriMag Blood Pump and all other components of the CentriMag platform in the United States. The associated North America Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 334510 and the Business Size Standard is 1250 employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, Tuesday, March 29, 2019. Information received in response to this notice must clearly demonstrate the capability of meeting the Government s need as stated above. Include any relevant information (specifications, cut sheets, brochures, capability statement, etc.) confirming the ability to supply the products and/or any services outlined in this notice. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
