This document serves as notification of an upcoming solicitation for a construction Project 671-22-179 INSTALL DEVICES FOR LEGIONELLA CONTROL AND PREVENTION. This project is to improve water quality to prevent growth of Legionella bacteria in the hospital distribution system. The contractor shall follow the design drawings, plans and specifications to install new hub joints, new hangers, leak test, new pipe connections as necessary to upgrade this antiquated system. In addition, some work will be in the interstitial space and therefore will require an interstitial permit from VA Safety Services. Interstitial space shall be in accordance with VA Policy Memorandum 007-15-04. The VA recommends that the contractor build a platform because of the location of dead ends in the work area. The Contractor shall haul off debris and return recycled material to the COR and remove their dumpster when full. Along with demo, the Contractor shall be responsible for filling, grading, patching, and repairing areas demoed with the same material originally disturbed to return area to a completely reclaimed/established area, acceptable by the VA. The contractor shall provide as-builts drawings of the area. All construction and installation work shall comply with the VA specifications for material and workmanship, NEC, NFPA and all applicable city, county, state, and federal regulations, and codes OSHA standards. Refer construction drawings and specs for requirements. A site visit is recommended to confirm all measurements and existing conditions. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the terms, conditions, specifications, and drawings of the solicitation (when available) and all applicable local and VA building codes. This project will be procured as 100% set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) used for this requirement is 238220, Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning with a standard size of $19M. The magnitude of this construction project is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. Contract awardee shall provide all supervision, labor, equipment, training, materials, supplies, and incidentals necessary to accomplish the work in accordance with the terms, conditions, specifications & drawings provided. The VA shall issue a request for a proposal on or about August 1st, 2025, via Contract Opportunities. A site visit will be scheduled prior to the closing of solicitation, the date, time, and location will be posted in the solicitation.
