Sources Sought Notice The Government is conducting market research to help determine the availability and technical capability of qualified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, Small Businesses, HUBZone small businesses and/or other Large Businesses capable of providing the needs identified below. Sources sought notice is for open market as well as Federal Supply Schedule items. This is a Sources Sought Notice for planning purposes only and shall not be considered an invitation for bid, request for quotation, request for proposal, or as an obligation of the government to acquire any products or services. Responses to this notice will be used for informational purposes only. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs from the government will arise as a result from a response to this announcement. No contract will be awarded from this notice. The information requested in this notice will be used to determine if there are sufficient socioeconomic small business concerns that are capable of performing the work described for the requirement. Background The Department of Veterans Affairs, along with Network Contracting Office 17, located at Babcock Medical Building, 5441 Babcock Rd., Suite 302, is seeking information from vendors regarding the Olympus BX53 Microscope Parts/Lights for the Chief Pathologist. This acquisition is intended to comply with the Buy American Act on behalf of the Amarillo Veterans Affairs Health Care System (AVAHCS). Objectives / Scope The AVAHCS is requesting procurement of a firm-fixed price contract for Olympus BX53 Microscope Parts/Lights. (One-time buy, no options are included). The vendor shall provide the required Olympus BX53 Microscope Parts/Lights for the Chief Pathologist at the AVAHCS. (Brand-Name or Equal). Period of performance The contract period is for of one year (no additional years) starting from the effective date of the contract.
