SERVICE: Description of work: The equipment will be used in both physical assessments and targeted therapy interventions. It will be used specifically for therapy and training of patients with traumatic brain injury and/or other rehabilitative requirements. IVR system should be equipped with a comprehensive package of immersive virtual stimuli with feedback capabilities. The immersive virtual environment should include a variety of real-time adjustable parameters such as: Rock wall Checkerboard Room Optokinetic stripes (horizonal and vertical, adjustable width and speed) Grocery aisle (real-time adjustable parameters) Flight simulator Castle Corridor Over 180-degree horizontal field of view, over 90-degree vertical field of view. Must be built with an ergonomic, low-step profile for easy patient access. Must include clinician area with wireless remote controls. HIPAA compliant patient database with merge and sync capabilities. Contractor must be able to complete delivery and set-up and provide a warranty with purchase. Place of Performance: PTRP - Polytrauma Transitional Rehabilitation Program - 4949 Gus Eckert Rd, SA 78240. RESTRICTIONS: Information technology security requirements: IT system integration requests will be submitted and will be reviewed by local VA IT software compliance managers once vendor and device has been chosen. Information Systems Officer, Information Protection: The contractor will NOT have access to VA Desktop computers and will NOT have access to online resources belonging to the government while conducting services. Privacy Officer: The Contractor will NOT have access to protected Patient Health Information (PHI) and will NOT have capability of accessing patient information during the services provided to the VA. If removal of equipment from the VA is required, any memory storage device will remain in VA control and will not be removed from VA custody. All research data available for Contractor analysis is de-identified. Records Manager Restrictions: There will be no federal records created, maintained, used or dispositioned with this contract; regardless of format (paper, electronic, etc.) or mode of transmission (e-mail, fax, etc.). Safety Requirements: In the performance of this contract, the Contractor shall take such safety precautions as the Contracting Officer may determine to be reasonably necessary to protect the lives and health of occupants of the building. The Contracting Officer shall notify the Contractor of any safety issues and the action necessary to correct these issues. Such notice, when served to the Contractor or his representative at the work site shall be deemed sufficient for the corrective actions to be taken. If the Contractor fails or refuses to comply promptly, the Contracting Officer may issue an order stopping all or part of the work and hold the Contractor in default.
