The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking both manufacturers and/or distributors of the exact match or functionally equivalent equipment/ services to the following listed above on Friday July 26, 2019 no later than 4pm CST. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS FOR STEREOTAXIC APPARATUS WITH DIGITAL DISPLAY CONSOLE The stereotaxic instrument with digital display console provided by David Kopf Instruments is a surgical apparatus used for minimally invasive surgeries that permit the accurate positioning of probes inside the brain based on three-dimensional coordinates. This apparatus with additional modifications includes key features and accessories needed for our research. Applications Neurosurgeries in rodents (rats) including guide cannula, electrophysiology. and optogenetic head implants. Microinjection surgery where injectors are inserted into brain and removed post-infusion. Features Linear scales with 10 micron resolution for all axes guarantees precision in our surgeries The compact digital display is easy to read and control, allowing for more accurate and efficient surgeries The gas anesthesia mask nose bar assembly is compatible with our isoflurane system and insures proper application of anesthesia without leakage The rat nose/tooth bar assembly offers maximum stereotaxic adjustment available for positioning the head. Statement of need The highly customizable stereotaxic apparatus provides interchangeable parts 10 meet the needs of various different types of surgery done in the lab. The digital display console allows us to perform surgeries without using a lab notebook to calculate our targeted coordinates. This results in faster surgeries that are more accurately performed.
