A first-time accuracy with direct MIC for detection of emerging and critical antimicrobial resistance to avoid delays associated with extra confirmatory testing and real-time alerts to enable immedidate action. Identify resistance with accurate detection of emerging low-level resistance through direct, growth-based AST’s. System should be the Microscan DxM 1040 to replace the current Microscan DxM System. The estimated value is $75,950.00. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: Beckman Coulter, Inc., is the primary manufacturer of this medical equipment. Beckman Coulter is a large business, so it partners with 2 small businesses and 1 SDVOSB to sell to the public for the Microscan DxM Analyzer. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted: Market research was conducted in accordance with FAR Part 10. A search in VIP using the NAICS Code and keyword “Microscan” returned 3 possible vendors. Beckman Coulter is a large business and has a FFS contract. Beckman Coulter is the sole manufacturer of this equipment but the Microscan DxM can be purchased through authorized dealers which are GSS, Dove Medical and Branch Medical., GSS and Dove medical are small businesses and Branch Medical is a SDVOSB. This is a limited Source Justification. Contracting Officer's Certification: Purchase is approved in accordance with FAR13.106-1(b).
