The purpose of this Amendment, 0001, is to post questions and answers received for combined synopsis/solicitation 36C25621Q0276. Question: Part a. Assessments 2a and 2b state obstruction assessment for 78 tampers on the standpipe systems. It then states sprinkler risers will be drained. Part b. Could you please confirm that the internal inspections are for 78 standpipe systems or are they for 78 sprinkler risers (wet or dry). Tampers are not part of internal investigations (which is creating confusion), the internal investigations for risers or for standpipes are where the clarification is needed. Answer: Part a: Yes, we are referring to the tamper valves located on each riser/standpipe, on each floor and wing, per NFPA 25, chapter 6, section 6.1.3 inspection requirements for common components and valves. How the technician inspects the system in order to meet the requirements of NFPA 25 is the discretion of the vendor. Part b: The sprinkler lines are fed from these risers/standpipes and the sprinkler lines opened and closed with the tamper valve. These sprinkler feed lines must be drained in order to remove the required number of sprinkler heads. Question: We are interested in this project. Can you provide the sprinkler drawings for the buildings to be inspected? Answer: The facility is 76 years old, newer outlying buildings may have existing as-builts. They are less than 20 years old. For Bldg. 1, there is a .pdf life safety layout for 1, there are no dedicated sprinkler drawings for the hospital. Question: Could you please tell me if the combined posted as solicitation number 36C25621Q0276 will be a follow-on requirement to any work performed currently or in the past, or will this be a new requirement? Answer: This is a new requirement. All other terms and conditions remain the same.
