This is an intent to sole source notice for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 5.2, Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions. This announcement constitutes the only notice of intent to sole source and synopsis of proposed action. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VHA, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 15 intends to negotiate/award a sole-source contract to Steris Corporation due to the proprietary nature of the equipment. The contract will be a Firm Fixed award. The statutory authority for this noncompetitive acquisition is FAR 13.106- 1(b) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 339113, and the FSC/PSC is 6515. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and award an Open Market Sole Source Firm Fixed award for Steris Medivators Advantage Plus Automated Endoscope Reprocessors (AER) for the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital at 800 Hospital Drive in Columbia, MO 65201-5275. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS OR QUOTATIONS. A SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE POSTED. Add Steris Medivators Automated endoscope reprocessors(AER) to the facility and connect to existing Steris software. Medivators is a Steris Company. They are the original and sole OEM manufacturer, distributor, and service provider of the Steris Medivators Advantage Plus AER and its accessories and service contracts. Current utilities at the facility are designed and approved for Steris Medivators. The current reprocessing system is already approved with facility design. As the original manufacturer, STERIS is the only party/vendor authorized to service the STERIS Medivators Advantage Plus AER, which is available through a STERIS Service Contract. Service Contracts are comprised of TOTAL CARE CONNECT service and include preventative maintenance. STERIS AER s can only be serviced by a STERIS authorized and factory trained Service Engineer, utilizing original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts to ensure safe and predictable performance. All responses received by the closing date specified herein will be considered by the Government, any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence and provide an Authorization Service Letter from Steris Corporation the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) by the required date. However, a determination by the Government to not compete is solely within the discretion of the Government.
