This is a Sources Sought (SS) notice issued in accordance with FAR 15.201(e) to conduct market research. This SS is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a promise to issue a RFQ in the future. These sources sought does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is not, at this time, seeking quotes and will not accept unsolicited quotes. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this Sources Sought; all costs associated with responding to this Sources Sought will be solely at the interested vendor's expense. Not responding to this Sources Sought does not preclude participation in any future RFQ, if any is issued. Any information submitted by respondents to this Sources Sought is strictly voluntary. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. This announcement is based upon the best information available and is subject to future modification. OVERVIEW: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 15, has a requirement to obtain installation of Pyxis Automated Dispensing Cabinet to the current system being used and in place at the Marion VA Medical, Owensboro, KY CBOC located at 2060 E. Parrish Avenue, Owensboro, KY 42303. It is anticipated that a firm-fixed-price contract will be awarded. NAICS 334510 -Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing and small business size standard 1,250 employees are applicable to the required services. SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED: This is to establish a new contract for an installation requirement for the GE Viewpoint system that requires technicians trained and certificate of authenticity will need to be provided for installation of the Pyxis Automated Dispensing Cabinet and must work with the existing Pyxis ES Medstation equipment and Pyxis ES Refrigerators that is installed and currently in use at the facility and interface on current VISN ES integrated server with all existing Marion/Evansville Pyxis ES Equipment. The Pyxis system is proprietary equipment, that will require the continual use of proprietary equipment and materials required to be provided by Certified Pyxis technician. Contractors shall furnish all necessary tools, equipment, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to perform the work safely, effectively, and timely. Tools, equipment, and PPE shall comply with the requirements of OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910, Subpart I, required by the Marion VA Medical Center. The contractor shall provide required installation and testing as required necessary to maintain operating specifications of the Pyxis Automated Dispending Cabinet. The Contractor will, at no additional charge, provide all required licenses, and documentation of performance, due to proprietary equipment. DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFIARS MEDICAL CENTER Marion VA Health Care Center-Owensboro, KY CBOC Agreement: The Marion VA Medical Center is requesting to establish a contract for installation for Pyxis Automated Dispensing Cabinet at Owensboro CBOC. The facility is located at: Owensboro CBOC 2060 E. Parrish Avenue Owensboro, KY 42303 Description of Use: To be used in the Marion, IL VAMC Medication Storage Areas. This solicitation uses a Brand Name or Equal Description of the product required. This permits prospective contractors to offer products other than those specifically referenced by brand name. All offers must work with existing equipment that has already been purchased and is currently in use at the station. Minimum Technical Specifications: The cabinet must also be assembled within the manufactured country or show significant proof of an internationally recognized quality assurance program Certificate of authenticity will need to be provided The Automated dispensing cabinet should have the following: Safety Aid in the prevention of loading medications in specific devices Aid in the verification of correct medication removal Aid in the prevention of wrong medication loading with a scan on fill function Provide patient allergy information Provide drug information at the dispensing cabinet Workflow Decrease inventory times by only requiring inventory counts on certain medications Allow for searchable medication list Allow for patient specific medication profile review and removal Allow for medication label printing from the station to allow for scanning upon medication administration by nursing staff Security Utilize biometric identification to improve inventory tracking Provide alerts to staff based on incorrect or duplicate removals Aid in minimizing access to controlled substances Aid in tracking removal and administration of controlled substances Information Technology The cabinet must work with the existing Pyxis ES Medstation equipment and Pyxis ES Refrigerators. Equipment must also interface on current VISN ES integrated server with all existing Marion/Evansville Pyxis ES Equipment. All equipment must be new Description Quantity Pyxis Medstation ES Tower, w/ 2 half height cubie drawers (4 Premium Drawers) 1 Pyxis Medstation ES, Main, 2DR (One HH drawer, one matrix) 2 Optional/Value Added Features: N/A Required Interfaces: Current Pyxis ES Compatible equipment including Pyxis ES refrigerators and upstanding Pyxis ES Server All equipment is currently fully operational per required standards. The Contractor has been provided an opportunity to visit the VA Medical Centers, examine the equipment, and note in writing to the CO any condition which may affect the Contractors performance of this contract. Failure to inspect the equipment prior to contract award will not relieve the Contractor from performance of the requirements of this contract.
