This requirement is to procure nine (9) Ascent II 67P Standard Power Medical Recliners/Transporters and one (1) Ascent II 68P XL Power Medical Recliner/Transporter at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center (RJDVAMC) in Building 1, Specialty Care Oncology Services. BACKGROUND. This is an activation of a new clinical area. The current reclining chairs are outdated and do not allow for easy operation for frail, elderly patients. Oncology patients often have difficulty reclining chairs that require body weight to recline. SCOPE OF WORK The Contractor shall provide nine (9) standard recliners and one (1) bariatric recliner that offers a manual recline feature with infinite positioning. Recliners must have a step for assisting patients into the recliner, side tables for procedures, manual recline feature to allow for nursing to assist patient, push handle and locking casters for positioning and safety, swing away arms for easy transfer, Trendelenburg positioning for shock or transfusion reaction, hand controls for ease of patient use, and heat and massage features are essential for this population who often have poor circulation and pain issues. Basis of design is the Champion Ascent II and Champion Ascent II XL Power Medical Recliner/Transporter Chairs. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS Swing -way arms Hand-held remote Fold-away table Retractable foot tray/step Push handle Wall-hugger mechanism for space saving capacity Infinite recline positioning Casters Trendelenburg positioning Heat + Massage for patient comfort Standard = up to 300lbs. XL= up to 500lbs. Installation. Installation will be completed by RJDVAMC Engineering and OIT staff.
