Brief Description of Services: The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials and transportation necessary to provide for the distribution of clean laundry to and return of soiled laundry from the Penn Enterprises to Wichita, KS, Topeka, KS, Kansas City, MO, Columbia, MO, and Leavenworth, KS. Currently, the soiled linen is being transported to and from two Penn Enterprises laundry facilities. One is in Junction City, Kansas and the other is in Rolla, Missouri. The routes are subject to change once certain construction projects are completed. More details will be provided in the solicitation. The contractor shall furnish drivers, tractors and SIX (6) or seven (7) 45-foot trailers, (1) 28- foot trailer, and possibly one (1) 27-foot trailer to perform the work set forth in this specification. The exact equipment requirements may fluctuate slightly (variance +-1) based evolving needs or available loading space. The distribution of the laundry shall include, but is not limited to, transportation of clean and soiled laundry, sanitation of the trailers, backing into loading docks, switching trailers, and loading and off-loading carts from the trailer. Contractor shall be responsible for providing trailers with an interior that is capable of being sanitized. The trailer must be capable of holding an estimated 24 carts that are 28 x 55 x 55 . Special Guidance for the Pre-Solicitation: Any vendor interested in providing an offer in response to the upcoming solicitation shall provide preliminary information as required for minimum consideration in the government contracting process.
