Madison VA Hospital seeks fiber optic cable with installation for a paging system upgrade and expansion. The contractor must provide, install, and test dedicated independent underground fiber connections: 6-strand indoor/outdoor armored plenum single-mode OS2 to Bldgs. 4 and 12; 6-strand indoor/outdoor plenum single-mode OS2 to Bldgs. 2, 5, 6, and 7 using government-furnished SMURF Tubes; and 18- or 24-strand indoor armored plenum single-mode OS2 from C-Wing Core Rm. C-125 to the Penthouse. Fiber will be run using existing trenches/pathways where possible and includes 1U fiber drawers, LC terminations as needed, proper labeling, and project management. The contractor will use SMURF Tube to protect government-furnished non-armored fiber inside buildings, with fiber terminating in the same room as paging/network equipment and demarc at Bldg. 1 C125 patch panel above ceiling tiles.
