During Hines VAMC scheduled or emergency steam shutdowns, the in-house pipe shop has discovered unforeseen damage to steam supply and condensate lines. Not having replacement expansion joints and being unable to purchase in a timely manner due to cost and delivery makes repairs unable to be conducted. Not being able to complete repairs has left uncomfortable steam leaks in interior areas of traffic. Not only is this dangerous to personnel and patients, but also causing further damage to hospital tunnels, hallways, and buildings in effected areas. The Hines VAMC needs a contractor to supply and deliver the replacement 5-inch expansion joints. The contractor shall take on all responsibilities to deliver the following three (3) items to Hines VA, Engineering. Please see below images for reference. -Three (3) 5-inch Type N Style I Ball Joints with Bolted Retainer. Hypsan Part number: BB-31533-65-11
