This is a request for information only (RFI) to identify any and all sources that can provide Rock salt for the Captain James A Lovell FHCC, North Chicago, IL. The vendor must be capable of making a complete delivery within 48 hours of call-in. The vendor must also be able to meet all the requirements stated below. The information provided in this RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the government. The Dept of Veterans Affairs has not made a commitment to procure any of the items discussed, and the release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become government property and will not be returned. Responders are advised that the US Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOps) website. Preference will be granted to SDVOSB/VOSB vendors providing a fair and reasonable price. Must be able to provide 308 tons of rock salt for the 2020-2021 winter season Rock salt must melt at -5 degrees Fahrenheit. Product must be absolutely free of debris, fillers and sand Product must absolutely dry, unfrozen, and unclumped at time of delivery. Delivery requires use of a 22-ton dump truck. Product must be no more than 12mm. in size.
