Solicitation: 36C25221B0025 Project: 578-21-028 Location: Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital 5000 S. 5th Avenue Hines, IL 60141 The Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital has a requirement to replace the roof of building 48 and restoration of the roof to its original condition. Currently the roof allows moisture to pass through to the interior of the building. There are several ceiling skylight frames that show severe degradation with rust and reduced flashing between the roof. The objectives of this requirement are to: 1) remove existing exhaust fan roof units, 2) remove existing skylight and infill, 3) remove existing coal tar roof assembly, 4) replace scuppers along roof perimeter, and 5) install a new roof assembly. The Period of Performance is One Hundred Twenty (120) calendar days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The NTP shall be issued approximately 10 calendar days after award once required payment and performance bonds and certificate of insurance is provided. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be posted on www.SAM.gov. There will be a pre-bid conference held for this project and all prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-bid conference will be included in the solicitation package. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 238160 Roofing Contractors; small business $16.5 Million size standard applies. Pursuant to Public Law 109-461, this solicitation is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) firms. In accordance with VAAR 819.7003(b), at the time of submission of bids, and prior to award of any contracts, the offeror must represent to the CO that it is a (1) SDVOSB or VOSB eligible under VAAR Subpart 819.70; (2) Small business concern under the NAICS code assigned to this acquisition; and (3) SDVOSB/VOSB listed as verified in VIP database at:Â https://www.vip.vetbiz.gov. The solicitation will be issued on or about July 16, 2021 with the bid opening on or about August 17, 2021. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from SAM.gov which may be issued to this solicitation. The magnitude of the requirement is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00.
