This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of Other than Small Businesses and/or Small Businesses, including VIP-Verified Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) prospective contractors relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 334118Â (Computer terminal and other computer peripheral equipment manufacturing). The procurement intended is Mailroom X-Ray Machine, is to scan incoming mailroom packages and letters. The X-Ray Scanner will allow the mail handler to scan any suspicious letter or package for smuggled contraband, weapons, pipe bombs, plastics explosives, composite weapons, powered chemical and dense inorganic weapons or bombs. It must be a portable device, with tunnel and conveyer belt attached. Mailroom X-Ray Scanner must be equipped to do the following: Must be portable on wheels Must have a 12 inch or greater tunnel opening for package entry Must be able to accommodate a package of width size 12 inch or greater Must be able to detect concealed drugs, weapons, bombs both plastic and metal, liquid and powered chemical Must have conveyor belt with adjustable speeds and pulling capacity of at least 100 lbs Must be able to detect over 2 million color tones Must be high-resolution Dimension must at least be 85x26x42 Must have image archiving Self-containing x-ray generator Color Monitor with adjustable zoom screen imaging, dark and light enhancement 120 volt Must meet all US/VA Radiation safety requirements Interested Other Than Small Businesses and Small Businesses including VIP-Verified VOSBs and SDVOSBs are required to submit an e-mail delineating: If responding to this notice please provide the following: Qualifications, capabilities, and experience for providing this product; Business size/Socioeconomic status; If the product is on the Federal Supply Schedule or the Open Market; and Memo or correspondence from manufacturer authorizing distribution of their products. This is not a Request for Proposal/Quote or an announcement of a solicitation and no solicitation package exists at this time. Responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submissions will not be returned to the sender. VOSBs and SDVOSBs must be registered and verified in VIP for set-aside consideration. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 334118 and the small business size standard is 1000 employees.
