This amendment provides facility answers to vendor questions for the procurement of two packaged steam water heaters. The units require all wetted parts, including the heat exchanger tube bundle, to be 316/316L stainless steel; copper is not acceptable, and while made-to-order fabrication may exceed the 90-day period of performance, vendors should submit the most accurate delivery schedule possible. Controls must be electronic, with BAS interface functionality preferred but not required, and the contractor’s scope ends at delivery to the Building 23 Warehouse with cut sheets and O&M manuals; installation, rigging, setting, startup, and commissioning are not required. Past performance may be reviewed via CPARS with no specific number of references required, and the existing end-of-life equipment is an electric tank-based water heater that will be replaced in parallel prior to cutover. The only noted physical constraint is passage through a standard 84-inch double door in the Sterile Processing mechanical space, and the Reverse Osmosis reference is not part of this requirement.
