Chillicothe VA Medical Center requires replacement chillers for campus buildings because the existing units are beyond their useful service lives, unreliable, and difficult to repair or source parts for. Failure of these chillers could disrupt patient care and administrative functions, potentially causing appointment cancellations or inpatient evacuation. The contractor must furnish eight air-cooled chillers, each rated 125–130 tons, per Section 4.1.1 and the salient characteristics document. Two chillers must be 460 volt and six must be 200 volt.
