THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPSIS. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this synopsis. Replace Fire Alarm System Contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, and supervision necessary to replace the existing fire alarm system with a new campus-wide fire alarm system in accordance with the plans and specifications provided. The new system must be nonproprietary meaning the manufacturer allows fair and open competition between vendors selling the fire alarm devices. The manufacturer of the new system must provide certified maintenance and repair training for two of the VA s maintenance personnel in order to keep the majority of the system maintenance in-house. All work is to be completed at the VA- Northern Indiana Health Care (VANIHCS) Fort Wayne Campus, 2121 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Work is to be completed within 270 calendar days from the notice to proceed. This project is designed for the replacement of the existing fire alarm system that is out of date and replacement parts can no longer be purchased. at the Fort Wayne VA. The VA s goal is to get fair and reasonable pricing. Therefore, we are soliciting Small Business (SB) socio-economic groups to determine the appropriate set-aside necessary to fulfill the VANIHCS needs. To assist the VANIHCS in making an accurate determination, we must know your firm s interest. It is expected that should a solicitation and/or contract for these construction services occur, FAR Clause 52.223-99 Ensuring Adequate COVID-19 Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors, will be included. In order to be eligible, interested parties must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) data base at https://sam.gov. For firms claiming small business classification status, they must also be registered and certified through the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Small & Disadvantaged Business Utilization data base, located at https://vetbiz.va.gov The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code for this potential acquisition is 238210 - Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors.
