NOTICE OF SOLE SOURCE INTENT Boston Scientific Corporation 300 Boston Scientific Way Marlborough, MA 01752 The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), VISN 10 Contracting Activity intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Boston Scientific Corporation, under the authority of FAR 13.106 1(b)(1)(i) Soliciting From a Single Source.  Boston Scientific Corporation offers the only U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved system used in the administration of bronchial thermoplasty treatment for patients with severe asthma. Interested parties may identify in writing their interest and capability to respond.  Responses must be received by no later than 10:00 a.m. EST on 21 March 2022.  If the VHA identifies no other capable sources by that date and time, a firm fixed price purchase order will be issued to the Boston Scientific Corporation. Sources Sought (Request for Information/Market Research) Description This Sources Sought notice is issued to identify and determine the level of interest among both Large and Small businesses including qualified VETBIZ registered Service Disabled and Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SD/VOSB). Responses will assist VA planners in determining an appropriate acquisition approach and/or set-aside strategy in accordance with federal acquisition regulations. This Request for Information Sources Sought Notice is looking for sources for products described below: Medical devices associated with bronchial thermoplasty treatment (e.g., radiofrequency controllers and catheters) which can be used as an asthma treatment that targets the smooth muscle in the lungs. The treatment uses heat to shrink the smooth muscle so it cannot tighten and cause asthma symptoms. Interested vendors are requested to respond to this notice no later than 10:00 AM EST 16 March 2022 via email to steve.bauer@va.gov.
