Lutz VA Medical Center located at 1500 Weiss Street in Saginaw, Michigan. The intent of the project is to replace the two existing chiller units and the chilled water system circulating pumps that serve Building 22. The existing chillers are mounted atop a steel chiller platform structure on the roof above the 1st floor dining room and outside of the 2nd floor mechanical room. The existing chilled water piping runs from the chiller units back into the 2nd floor mechanical room through the south facing exterior wall. The existing chilled water system circulating pumps are located in the 2nd floor mechanical room. The new chiller units will be placed atop the existing steel chiller platform structure and the new chilled water system circulating pumps will go on the existing housekeeping pads in the 2nd floor mechanical room.

This is a Pre-Solicitation announcement to inform potential offerors of the Department of Veterans Affairs intent to advertise for bids the project entitled Building 22 Chiller Replacement, Project 655-22-201 to be accomplished at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, Saginaw, MI 48602. A solicitation is planned to be issued on or about June 15, 2022. The project s general scope of work is to furnish all tools, equipment, material, permits, labor, supervision, and all other necessary resources to accomplish the following work: Complete removal of the two existing chiller units and their chilled water system circulating pumps, and the installation of two new chiller units and chilled water system circulating pumps in Building 22. Work is scheduled to be performed during the normal daytime business hours of the medical center excluding federal holidays. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction with a small business size standard of $39.5 million. The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract within 180 days from bid opening date. This acquisition is a 100% set-aside for qualified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB).
