Dingell VA Medical Center (JDDVAMC), PR 553-20-4-3047-0129. Brief Description of Services required and Estimated Amount: Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) Services for the JDDVAMC, to include annual performance testing of radiological equipment. IGCE, $99,995.00. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: The last contract, 36C25018C0080, with RSOTOGO was terminated for cause with an effective date of 7/14/2020. Petrone, Thomas J, is a small business that was a subcontractor to RSOTOTO providing RSO Services to the JDDVAMC. Thomas Petrone is already designated as the RSO for the JDDVAMC by the VA's National Health Physics Program (NHPP). No other vendor can provide an emergency short term contract - 12 months - for RSO services immediately for the JDDVAMC. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted: VIP was checked with numerous results, however, the current named RSO, Thomas Petrone, is already named the designated RSO for the JDDVAMC and can immediately provide RSO services. Contracting Officer's Certification: Purchase is approved in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-2, urgent and compelling .
