This is a Sources Sought Notice for Endoscopy Ultrasound Training as identified in the Statement of Work for the Detroit VA Medical Center. The contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, supervision, management, management support, supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to furnish the following services. A draft Statement of Work is attached to this notice and is subject to change should a solicitation be issued as a result of this notice. Please respond if you have the ability and intent to complete this requirement. This Sources Sought Notice is intended to locate any business capable of performance. The anticipated NAICS Code for this requirement is 541611. This is not a Request for Quotation and quotes shall not be reviewed at this time. The Department of Veterans Affairs shall not be responsible for any costs incurred by the contractor as a result of this Sources Sought Notice. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Draft Statement of Work Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is a minimally invasive advanced endoscopy technique that is utilized both in the evaluation of suspected malignancy (for example further investigation of abnormal imaging findings) and for staging of confirmed malignancy. The contractor shall provide training in advanced endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) procedures to one physician from the Detroit VA Medical Center which meets the following requirements: The training course must not exceed eight (8) weeks in duration. The training must be focused exclusively on EUS, with the purpose of providing the physician the training and experience required to be privileged to perform EUS procedures independently. The training must provide the clinician didactic training and hands-on EUS training and a proctorship that includes the physician completing at least 250 EUS procedures under the supervision of a physician certified to perform EUS independently, in accordance with American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) guidelines. Upon completion of the 250 EUS procedures, the trained physician must be qualified to be privileged to perform EUS independently at VA medical centers, in accordance with the recommendations and guidelines of the ASGE and the American Gastroenterology Association (AGA). The training shall be conducted in a clinical setting, and all procedures shall be documented in a case log which must be provided to the physician upon completion of the training.
