PRESOLICITATION NOTICE This document serves as notification of an upcoming solicitation for a construction project Project 583-15-112 Renovate Space for VCC: It is the intention of the Richard L Roudebush VA Medical Center to solicit bids for the following: 1. The contractor shall provide all tools, equipment, material, labor, and supervision necessary to accomplish all work set forth in the contract specifications and drawings. 2. Work shall include: General construction, alterations, electrical, fire protection, mechanical, plumbing, necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items. All items being removed are to be disposed of by the contractor. 3. All above work to be done in accordance with contract drawings and specifications. Project involves renovating and updating the library on the 2nd floor A-wing in addition to renovating the computer training rooms immediately outside the library. The library has become much more digital over the years so the large bookshelves with a lot of books are long gone. The library has become much more of a training area. In order for the VA simulation lab to be accredited, we need to add an additional SIM lab. The Sim labs will have more lifelike headwall units so they can train their staff. The computers in the training room are old and outdated. The electrical and data sometimes does not work. We will install a lower raised computer floor and a new acoustical divider between the two training rooms. Since they took away the training room on the 8th floor for Hem Onc, they need to add additional training inside the library, so we are adding a classroom just outside the simulation labs. In addition, they are going away from projectors and screen and going to large monitors. The circulation desk will be relocated to the side and there will be offices allotted for the Librarian and other staff. In addition, they will relocate the BLCS training room to the side in order to open up the middle. The individual employee/veteran computer work carrels will be pushed to the side also. There will be storage rooms allotted for training materials and equipment. They will also add a VAM (voice activated module) training room. There will be a new ceiling installed as the one there currently is all piecemeal. They will also get new carpet and finishes. This project will be procured as 100% set aside for Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) used for this requirement is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. with a standard size of $39.5M. The magnitude of this construction project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Contract awardee shall provide all supervision, labor, equipment, training, materials, supplies, and incidentals necessary to accomplish the work in accordance with the terms, conditions, specifications & drawings provided. The VA will issue an IFB on or about 3 February 2020 via https://beta.sam.gov/search?index=opp . A site visit will be scheduled prior to the closing of solicitation, and the date, time and location will be posted in the solicitation.
