AJ12--Development/Production - Kidney GEC-Specific AAV Vector
This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information, not a solicitation, for a brand-name-only requirement to develop and produce a kidney glomerular endothelial cell (GEC)-specific AAV vector for VA preclinical research under a VA ORD Merit-funded project. The contractor must independently engineer, produce, and validate the vector, including inserting targeting peptides into the AAV VP1 capsid at position 588/589, confirming GEC selectivity, and testing binding/internalization, biodistribution, transduction efficiency, and off-target effects in culture and murine models. The requirement is associated with the Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, MO, and includes quarterly reports, weekly videoconference lab meetings, and biannual face-to-face progress meetings in Finland. Task 1 must be completed within one year of the award start date, with Tasks 2 and 3 completed by the end of the second year. Offerors should have endothelial-specific viral vector engineering experience, proven animal and human cell vector delivery, and facilities/equipment meeting AAALAC and FELASA standards.
