Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 16, Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare Medical Center, Medicine Service, requests the acquisition of one Digital Droplet PCR system (ddPCR) for the Pharmacogenomics Analysis Laboratory (PAL) Brand Name or equal to the Bio Rad QX200 and components described below. The system must include four main components: Automated Droplet Generator, Droplet Reader with Laptop, Thermal Cycler, and Plate Sealer (see detailed list below). Verification of changes in gene expression are critical for validation of experimental results obtained using high throughput assays routinely employed by the VA PAL. The procured system must be able allow the partitioning of the PCR reaction into 20,000 individual reaction vessels prior to amplification and the acquisition of data at reaction end point. The system must allow direct and independent quantification of cDNA without standard curves giving precise and reproducible results particularly in the presence of sample contaminants. In addition, the system must provide end-point measurement to enable gene expression quantitation independently of the reaction efficiency, resulting in a positive-negative call for every droplet. It must allow assays of up to four different genes in one reaction to allow for more accurate and reproducible quantification especially in important low abundance transcripts commonly studied in the PAL. The new system must perform at a high level in terms of sensitivity and detection, reproducibility, and precision; in particular, reliably detecting low-copy number genomes. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement and who is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), authorized dealer, authorized distributor or authorized reseller of all the items listed above, may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than April, 24, 2021 11AM EST.
