The Puget Sound VA Medical Center intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with DNAgenotek OM for -AC1: Toilet Accessories for research subject self-collection of biospecimen. The study needs a safe and easy way for participants, particularly those with mobility challenges to self-collect stool samples within the privacy of their own homes. The stool capturing device must be able to catch stool without allowing it to contaminate the subject and without letting the stool specimen to become contaminated by falling into any water in a toilet bowl. The stool that is captured must then remain in this uncontaminated state until the subject is ready to transfer the stool to a sample vial. These kits will used by several sites for study, Epidemiology, Immunology and Clinical Characteristics of COVID-19 (EPIC3) within the Veterans Health Administration This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement and who is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), authorized dealer, authorized distributor or authorized reseller of all the items listed above, may submit a capability statement to the contracting office to the contracting office no later than Monday, December 28, 2020 11:00 AM EST. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
