The VANJHCS Neurobehavioral Research Laboratory requires a Startle Response/Tremor Monitor System in order to execute a VA-ORD Shared Equipment Evaluation Program (ShEEP). The system will be used for measuring the rodent acoustic startle response and pre-pulse inhibition of the startle reflex. These are assessment techniques historically used by the researchers at the East Orange VA Medical Center (EOVAMC) to study the effects of stress on startle reactivity. These measurements are needed for ongoing research at the VANJHCS related to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI) and Parkinson s Disease (PD). Startle Response/Tremor Monitor System characteristics as follows: The VANJHCS requires a Startle Response/Tremor Monitor System. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (large business, small business, 8(a), SDVOSB, etc.), relative to NAICS code 334516.
