Subject: SPECIAL NOTICE 36C24924Q0030 Description: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 9, intends to issue a Firm Fixed Priced contract under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Soliciting from a single source. On or about November 20, 2023, an award is anticipated to occur to ABIOMED. The period of performance will be for one calendar year after contract award. This requirement includes the purchase of (3) Impella CP Catheter for Nashville VA Medical Center. This is a sole source requirement because the product required is manufacturer, marketed and distributed by one source. A search of the Federal Procurement Data System found 55 orders VA-wide for Impella CP Catheter; Abiomed was awarded all 55 of these orders. NCO 9 intends to non-competitively award this requirement to ABIOMED since they are the sole producer and source for the Impella CP Catheter. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 339112, with a size standard of 1,000 employees. The applicable Product Service Code is 6515.
